The buses must be introduced to our roads as quickly as possible to save us from these matatus that are giving us hell on the roads for the taxi rates and the traffic jams. Government must immediately think of relocating these taxis to rural roads that are not all that busy like the Kampala City ones.

Last week I saw a story in the Sunrise newspaper criticizing the Government for still thinking of manufacturing vehicles run on fossil fuels. Little did the columnist know that a week later Uganda would roll-off electricity-run buses from Luwero Industries. And, moreover this is the investment initiative of the Kiira car manufacturers.

Now, the buses must be introduced to our roads as quickly as possible to save us from these matatus that are giving us hell on the roads for the taxi rates and the traffic jams. Government must immediately think of relocating these taxis to rural roads that are not all that busy like the Kampala City ones.

Again, I must say that we Ugandans are well-endowed by God. All we need is to harness all our resources for the development of the country. As we do this, the people in power, should not merely think of their own stomachs but think of the people. Had this been done 30 years ago, we would now be a middle income country. Mark you, it took Singapore only 20 years to reach that kind of status.
