The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has launched the 5thedition of the Airtel FUFA Awards that appreciates outstanding Uganda talents and football associates
The awards that will take place on 14th December at Speke Hotel Munyonyo will see most outstanding players, Coaches, individuals and teams represented with accolades.
Rogers Byamukama the awards organizing committee chairman said there are four new categories that have been added to the awards making the list 14
“The new categories are Airtel-FUFA BestX1 2019 (Women), Airtel-FUFA women Football coach of the year, Best Squad (club/National Team)of a particular year, FUFA members associations award and the fans team of the year (FUFA competitions)”
Byamukama added “We have so far released only three categories and list of nominees which include FUFA Male player of the year 2019, FUFA Female player of the year 2019, Team Fans of the year (FUFA competitions)”
“Football off the pitch has grown a lot hence attracting big companies to sponsor such big events , we are confident that the last four years of the FUFA Awards have contributed a lot in giving every footballer a chance to double their efforts for recognition and possibility of winning the biggest prize said Justus Mugisha the acting FUFA President.
Mike Mutebi the KCCA FC coach and the three times coach of the year award winner said the Awards are a motivation to their coaches he teams and the club owners, as they keep pushing to be the best
The award sponsors Airtel Uganda offered 100 millions in the event and co sponsors ECO bank offered 10 millions.
