It was an end of the road yesterday once again for the National Soccer side the Uganda Cranes after they were beaten by Senegal 1-0 at the last 16 stage of the 2019 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations held in Cairo Egypt.
Senegal’s star striker Sadio Mane scored in the 15th minute to give the more experienced side a comfortable lead.
Uganda Cranes failed to produce the form they displayed against Egypt in the last game of the group stages and often failed to match Senegal’s pace.
The defense was many times beaten which forced Captain Dennis Onyango to make daring moves to cover up for the defensive mistakes. In two of those instances, he earned a yellow card while in the second, he was punished with penalty. Fortunately, he saved Mane’s spot kick.
