Lord Mayor Hosts KCCA FC at a dinner

The Lord Mayor for Kampala capital City Authority Erias Lukwago Hosted Kampala Capital city Authority Football club (KCCA FC) for dinner at the Lord Mayors parlor congratulating the team for winning the Star times Uganda premier league 2018/2019

Lukwago who was flanked by KCCA Division Mayors and councilors treated the KCCA FC  players and the coach and thanked them for being persistent and keeping the KCCA team on top comparing it to teams like Mamelodi  Sundowns of South Africa

Lukwago used this dinner to announce that the club will be getting 1bn per financial year particularly for developing and constructing a modern football pitch for the team and also pledged to make sure the team’s budget is increased to ease work

‘’school clubs are having modern pitches and a mighty team like KCCA that is playing continental football has nothing, I will not allow that to happen’’ said Lukwago

The Division Mayor for Kawempe Dr. Sserunjonji Emmanuel who represented other mayors and councilors assured the players they’re to support the team in case of any financial support or any other  development

‘’we are sports people I remember I would ride my bike to Jinja to watch KCCA play even before I was the mayor. Now am part of KCCA do you think I would let you down? I want to assure you as the political wing we appreciate and we are behind you.

The dinner was also attended by KCCA directors represented by the director for Education and social services Namuddu Juliet, who also pledged for support towards the Team,

The head coach of KCCA FC Mike Mutebi thanked KCCA management, the lord mayor and his political wing for the support they have rendered to the team and also requested for an increase in the team’s budget as it will be participating in continental tournaments

Charles Lukwago who spoke on behalf of the Players thanked the team mates for the spirit throughout the season and also thanked the fans and KCCA management which is always there in Case there is need

‘’we also appreciate the lord mayor and his team for hosting us and also being supportive towards the team, as KCCA players we want to assure you that we shall keep fighting hard in order to keep on top’’ said Lukwago Charles
