Youths in Uganda under the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light ( HWPL) organization have requested President Yoweri Kaguta

Museveni to sign on the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCWL) petition The Youths that started with cleaning Nansana Municipality and donating Dustbins called upon the President to be Part of the 25 countries that have so far signed the petition

The Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCWL) is a draft international law which will be presented to the UN by June 2020 with the aim of achieving world Peace and emphasize the importance of preventing Conflicts by implementing arms reduction and maintaining friendly relations among states.

The DPCW is also meant to emphasize the significance of the culture of sustainable peace, provide principles in which international institutions can resolve conflicts and preventing conflicts caused by Non- State actors.

According to Kaliro Alex of HWPL, The DPCW reflects the universal values of peace in the UN charter and the Universal declaration of Human rights

“We have so far signed 9 Memorandums of understanding with ministries of education in nine 9 countries where we are carrying out 80 pilot projects in 80 schools “said Kaliro.

Alex added “Uganda can also be part of this work by allowing Uganda’s permanent mission to the UN to vote in favour of the UNGA resolution containing the contents of DPCW and President Museveni sign the petition as this will make him the 26th president to put pen to the petition”.

The youth also carried out general cleaning of Nansana municipality and donated items like dustbins and other disposables used in cleaning and daily hygiene a move that was welcomed by the leaders and residents of Nansana Municipality.
