The tragic death of Ugandan music producer Michael Kalinda a.k.a Ziggy Wine, a member of the Fire Base crew and prominent supporter of People Power leader Robert Kyagulanyi has created a chilling effect in the minds of many people.

According to media reports , family members of the now late Ziggy Wine, the musician who was kidnapped on July 21, 2019 by unknown people, kept him for more than a week and dumped him at the entrance of Mulago hospital with marks of gruesome torture.

His friend and Boss at Fire Base also Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine confirmed the torture horror that includes one eye being removed, flat iron burns and two of his fingers cut off. Bobi Wine linked the death of Ziggy’ to “political views”.

Since reports of Ziggy’s death started to trickle in, many social media platforms have been flooded with messages of shock with many drawing conclusions that Uganda’s security situation is now tending towards the Amin era levels.

Some of the questions being asked included: How have we come to this? Have we returned to those terrible days of Amin? And How long shall this go on?

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said they are going to assess CCTV video footage at Mulago’s entrance to find the possible killers.
