The Director of Sharia at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), Sheikh Yahaya Kakungulu has advised the Muslim community to first the first ten days of Dhual-Hijjah and this shall help them earn the rewards.

The first ten days started today Friday and shall end on Saturday. “Even if you missed today, you can start tomorrow but make sure that you don’t miss the ninth day called ‘Arafah” he said

Arafah is the ninth day of the month of Dhual-hijjah and it is on this page when pilgrims make their way from Mina to a nearby hillside and plain called Arafah, where Prophet Muhammad PBUH is believed to have made his last famous sermons in his final years of life.

“When you fast on this day, God forgive you all your sins that you committed in the previous the coming year” he added

Hafsah the prophet’s wife (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the prophet’s said “Four things the prophet never neglected; Observing fast on the day of Arafat, three days of every month, and offering fajr sunnah prayers early in the morning” reported by Sahih Muslim

Kakungulu revealed this while addressing the press at the headquarters of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), in Old Kampala on the Iddi Adhua which is slated to take place next week on Sunday 11th August.

“Prayers at the national mosque shall be conducted at exactly 9:00 am and will be led by Mufti Shaban Mubajje here at Old Kampala” he added
