The Ugandan government has denied a story by a British newspaper that it issued a passport to some people related to Venezuelan government officials, with which they escaped the political crisis in the South American country to China.
The spokesperson of the internal affairs ministry Jacob Siminyu told a news conference today that the story which appeared in the that Daily Mail of UK, indicating that Diosdado Cabello, the Leader of the Venezuela’s National Assembly (Parliament) who doubles as the Second in Command to Maduro, sent two of his children to China and using Ugandan passports, is false.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs has never issued any passport in the names of Tito Contreras and therefore the allegations are unfounded,” said Siminyu.
“As the ministry we wish to categorically dismiss the allegations as false and the public is therefore notified to disregard the story and the allegations there” added Siminyu.
