Kenya’s incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta has been declared the winner of the country’s August 8, 2017 presidential elections.
Kenyatta beat his closest and long-time rival Raila Amoro Odinga with (8, 238 votes) 54.3% over Odinga’s (6,794,416 votes) 44.7% of total votes cast.
The chairman of Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Wafula Chebukati declared Kenyatta the winner of the hotly contested race this evening, bringing to end close to four days of waiting the results.
But leaders from the main opposition NASA alliance said they still had concerns over the process.
International observers however endorsed the results as credible.
