Hardly had the police decamped from Dr. Kizza Besigye’s residence in Kasangati than he was re-arrested for trying to hold a procession through Kampala.

A fleet of vehicles and excited supporters who accompanied Dr. Kizza Besigye was stopped at Mulago round-about in Kampala this morning as the former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential contender tried to go through Kampala heading to his party headquarters to attend weekly prayers.

Police sources indicate that Besigye was first taken to Jinja road police station before he was driven to Naggalama police station where he was charged with holding an illegal procession through the city.

Meanwhile, > the police has charged six FDC supporters who recently chained themselves in Kampala. The six were charged with holding an illegal assembly.
