At least 120 people are dead in shootings and explosions around Paris, many of them at a popular concert hall where terrorists took patrons hostage, try Yahoo news reported.
This is the second biggest attack to a western capital since 9/11 attacks on New York.
French Police has told international news agencies that it believes most of the attackers were killed.
The attacks have left many world leaders shaken. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she is “deeply shaken by the news and pictures that are reaching us from Paris.”
US President Barack Obama held a media briefing to express solidarity and offer aid and condolences to the French people.
Obama said: “Once again, we’ve seen an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians. This is an attack not just on Paris, it’s an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share.”
Another statement from the Secretary-General of the NATO alliance says he is “deeply shocked by horrific Paris attacks”.
