Jinja high court has just cleared the Member of Parliament for Nakifuma County in Mukono district, Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko to contest in the NRM primaries after he convinced Court that he has the necessary academic qualifications.

In his ruling, the resident high court judge Godfrey Namundi read by Jinja court registrar Susan Kanyange, ordered that the NRM Electoral Commission reinstates Ssekitoleko in the NRM primaries.

He said that the NRM electoral commission acted illegally by kicking Ssekitoleko out of the NRM race since they had no evidence pinning him that he lacked the minimum academic qualifications to contest in the primaries.

Court also ordered the NRM electoral commission to compensate Ssekitoleko for their illegal acts and also meet the legal costs.

Ssekitoleko was represented by Kampala lawyer Ambrose Tebyasa Matovu and Co. advocates while NRM electoral commission was represented by Enoch Barata of Kiwanuka and Karugire Co Advocates.

This was good news to the embattled legislator who vowed to take on the NRM chairman electoral commission Dr Tanga Odoi for what he termed as continued arrogance.

“I must sue him for all the letters he authored against me claiming I lacked papers. He will be sued along with all his accomplices.
