The Government has said the late Dr. James Shinyabulo-Mutende,   died of natural causes.

While releasing a list of officials to coordinate the burial arrangements of the late minister, Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda said a postmortem that was carried out by pathologists at Mulago National Referral Hospital confirmed Mutende’s death as being due to natural causes.

Mutende’s death comes less than a month since the death of former Minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Aronda Nyakairima.

The committee that will coordinate Mutende’s burial, will be chaired by Minister of Energy Eng. Irene Muloni and deputised by the Minister of State for Trade, David Wakikona.

Dr James Shinyabulo Mutende, the deceased former husband of Lydia Wanyoto, a former member of the East African Legislative Assembly was a PhD holder and one of the few senior members of cabinet from Eastern Region.

Government said the death of Dr James Mutende is a big loss to the country. “He was a dedicated patriot who served the people of Uganda with distinction.”
