Uganda’s Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda held a special sitting on Tuesday in which the ministers paid tribute to Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, the deceased former minister Minister of Internal Affairs for his contribution towards the stability and the unity of the people of Uganda.

A statement signed by Dr. Rugunda said: “Cabinet acknowledged and saluted the significant contribution the late Gen. Aronda made to the country’s stability and the unity of the people of Uganda.”

Cabinet also shifted the burial of the former UPDF Chief of Defense forces from Saturday to Sunday 20th, as had been earlier scheduled. The following is a brief on the national events to send off one of Uganda’s most accomplished generals.

Wed 16th – Body arrives at Entebbe International Airport from Dubai

Thur 17th – Body lies in State at Parliament

Fri 18th – Funeral Service at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds

Sun 20th – Burial in Rukungiri
