State House Wednesday said media should stop referring to Sarah Kagingo as a special communications assistant to the President since she was suspended from her job last month.
In a message posted on Tamale Mirundi’s Facebook page, the President’s spokesperson said it was wrong to continually refer to Kagingo as a special communications assistant since she had been suspended from State House.
“As I earlier said, the President suspended Kagingo for misconduct. Since she had no appointment letter for any post in State House that meant she lost everything. So until H.E the President in his own wisdom decides to re-deploy her in any other assignment, she remains an ordinary citizen with no attachment to State House,” Mirundi said in the post.
Media reports have been quoting Kagingo as a special communications assistant to the President since she insists she has never received a termination letter for her job.
Kagingo has had run-ins with State Houses, accusing some officials there orchestrating a smear campaign against her and trying to hound her out of her job.
Mirundi also dismissed claims that link him to Kagingo’s current woes, saying: “….it is wrong for some people to reduce Sarah Kagingo’s problems to an alleged fuse between me and her…. As a spokesperson of State House, it is my role to inform the public about developments in State House irrespective of who is involved,” he said.
Last month Mirundi announced the President had suspended Kagingo after she allegedly ordered the arrest of Joseph Owino, a Kampala based IT consultant, who she accused of hacking into the President’s social media accounts.
State House Tuesday forcefully withdrew Kagingo’s official car [UG 2273C] with the assist of the Police Flying Squad.
Police spokesperson Fred Enaga told journalists they had been prompted to use force because Kagingo had refused to hand over the car even after receiving a formal letter from State House comptroller Lucy Nakyobe.

As I earlier said, the president suspended Kagingo for misconduct. Since she had no appointment letter for any post in State House that meant she lost everything.
So until H.E the president in his own wisdom decides to re-deploy her in any other assignment, she remains an ordinary citizen with no attachment to State House.
Furthermore, it is wrong for some people to reduce Sarah Kagingo problems to an alleged fuse between me and her. If you hear the death of your relative on a radio set, it is unwise to smash the radio accusing it to have been involved or responsible for the death of your relative.
As a spokesperson of State House, it is my role to inform the public about developments in State House irrespective of who is involved.
