The decision on when to marry or get married is entirely yours but that does not stop us from sharing with you about the benefits of getting married at an early age. By early age I’m talking about the age between 20 and 25. Quite a number of people have married within this age bracket and have realized some benefits.
When you marry young, you and your wife have less exes, old flames, comparisons, and retroactive jealousy of each other’s past relationships to deal with. You can start life together with more of the guileless freshness that lends itself to unabashed and lasting romance. This is not the case with those who marry at a later age after collecting a lot of baggage.
By marrying young you are more likely to describe your marriage as happy. Studies have found that couples who married between the ages of 22 and 25 are more likely to describe their marriage as “very happy” than couples who got married in other age brackets. This is because marital satisfaction declines after the age of 25. Therefore spouses that get married older often feel like they are settling with a less-than-ideal marriage partner. More sex may play a role as well.
It is also true that you have the chance to grow together when you marry early. It has been noted that it’s more difficult to join two lives together when each party has been living independently for a long time, than when a couple starts out life together early on. There is actually a neurological reason behind that observation.
You will also discover that it is easier to integrate yourselves with each other. When you get married young, you are still deciding the person you want to be and how you want to live your life. Therefore, you don’t have a lot of deeply ingrained habits, attitudes, and patterns that you have to change and adjust to make room for each other. Instead, your patterns and habits will grow out of the time you share with each other, rather than have to be changed for the other person. And the bond you form will only grow stronger.
It is only in early marriages that you get to share a lot more achievements together. As you get older, most people get more financially secure and start building better lives for themselves. When you get married late, often times a lot of the hard work has already been done, and thus the rewards have already been experienced. But when you get married early, you get to go through all that progress, accomplishment, and achievement together. You get to experience what it’s like to live without roommates for the first time with each other, just like you get to see what it’s like to get promotions, or a much nicer place, or a new car together.
Of course there are disadvantages of marrying early but for today I’m sharing with you the benefits.
