Fans to Decide on Hipipo Music Awards

Under this year’s theme “The Fans Decide”, 000 nomination forms that were filled by different music stakeholders who included musicians, talent managers, media houses, promoters, producers and fans.  

According to organizers, the awards are aimed at recognising, celebrating, promoting more talent and innovations to engage and embrace the music industry as a whole.

They further add that they have come out with more categories which pay attention to gender inclusion, quality of video production, DJs and music from the different regions of Uganda.

At regional levels, the award committee sourced nominees for the best regional songs that were eligible in a way that they must have been recorded by musicians based in those particular regions and must be in the region’s local language(s).

With the voting channels available for the fans on different platforms which include online and SMS will culminate on the awarding day Saturday February 8th at Wonder World Theatre Auditorium Kansanga.

Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Jose Chameleone, Goodlyfe, Navio will battle it out in the most influential category of Artist of the year while another interesting is best female artist where new kids on the block Irene Ntale and Rema Namakula will compete with veterans Cindy, Juliana Kanyomozi, Iryn Namubiru.
