Beyonce with her daughter Blue Ivy Carter

Beyonce’s attempt to trademark her oldest daughter’s name “Blue Ivy Carter” has been opposed by Wendy Morales a wedding planner who claims she was using the name first.

According to sky news, Beyonce’s legal team is now asking the US patent and trademark office to dismiss the trademark opposition.

The lawyers argue that Jay-Z and Beyonce’s eldest child Blue Ivy is a “cultural icon” who has been described as a “mini style star’ and has been celebrated for her fashion moments, Life and activities are followed extensively by media and the public.

The legal documents reveal that, Morales runs a “small business” with just a handful of employees, a small online presence and poorly subscribed social media accounts.

However, Morales claims consumers are likely to be confused between a boutique wedding event planning business and Blue Ivy Carter, daughter to worldwide famous performers.

On this Beyonce argued that Morales claims that consumers are likely to be confused is frivolous and should be refused in its entirety.

Beyonce further accuses Morales of riding her coattails, claiming she exhibited a pattern and practice of affirmatively attempting to connect its brand with blue Ivy Carter to increase its exposure.

Records show that the trademark application was filled in January 2016 and Morales filled her opposition in May 2017.

Of recent Beyonce made collaboration with daughter on her Lion king soundtrack Album “The Gift,” which made Blue Ivy the youngest female artist in history to appear on the billboard Hot 100 chart.
