Mesach’s Golden Band has broken a record as the first music group to turn down a fat pay check from Kasule Lumumba NRM secretary general.
Our snoop has learnt that in a meeting with the NRM secretary general, Mesach Ssemakula and group turned down a generous pay because they have decided to remain impartial.
The SG had offered them a chance to produce a song for president Museveni’s campaigns, to the surprise of Lumumba; they politely turned down the request telling the SG that they have a policy in the band not to side with any political party. But that they do not bar individual members from entering a pact with the NRM.
One of the group members Catherine Kusasira has grabbed the chance to sing for the president……..
