Awkward Ideas

For centuries women have tried to figure out just what men are thinking. While men claim that it is women who are hard to decipher, the truth is actually the opposite. The real kicker came when men began wearing earrings again.

Though most women do not technically disagree with this fashion statement, many do wonder just what it is that a man is trying to say when he sports jewelry in his ears. Is it to attract females?  Do some guys pierce their ears because they think that girls find guys with earrings sexy?  Wearing those soda bottle screw tops in your ear lobes means something.

It is believed that men have worn earrings for as long as civilization has existed. Jade earrings of men dating back to 3000 BC have been found in Southeast Asia. In ancient times, men wore earrings in places like Assyria and Babylonia to denote their rank in society.

Aztec warriors wore them as a mark of honor. Even the primitive man pierced himself to wear earrings. Then, they were not only mere adornments that spoke of power, but prized possessions as well. It is also believed that even slaves have worn earrings or bracelet as a symbol of slavery.

The bible has said a lot about earrings. In Isaiah 3:20 the word “earrings” comes from a Hebrew word which is a prime root and means “to whisper, implying a spell as a magician; also a charmer or enchantment.” This is nothing more than demonism.

According to Deuteronomy 22:5  “A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God”. The Hebrew word translated as “clothing” in this passage is KELI. This word does not mean clothing only but also include articles like earrings.

Women should find it interesting to date and marry a man with earrings.  Such men have already gone through the pains of piercing their ears and they won’t feel any pain even when you disappoint them. Someone told me that they are also good at buying jewelries because they understand the importance.

The truth is that men who have pierced their ears are better prepared for marriage. They have experienced pain and they have bought jewelry.

There is, however, a universal belief that men with earrings are homosexuals. If you happen to date one be ready for anything that happens. The chap may hold the sword at the wrong end and please don’t complain because we have warned you in advance.
