One hundred pupils in the opening year of a school is the dream of most school entrepreneurs. And yet Muniira Junior school located along Salaama road in Makindye division in Kampala surpassed the 100 kids target attracting joy from the founders, parents of the school.

Zakaria Kaguta, the headmaster of this young school revealed during the school’s first graduation that they started with five classes ranging from baby class to primary three.

Last week, the 10 pioneers of top class graduated to primary one in a colouful ceremony. Sauba Mugerwa, the Deputy Headmaster of Muniira primary said that her biggest inspiration has come from the testimonies of the parents as well as the eagerness by the students to learn.

Ercan Tapsiz, the Head Teacher of Turkish Primary School who officiated as the Guest of Honour, promised to work hand in hand with the management of Muniira junior school since their aims and objectives are the same.

Beside the reassuring numbers, Kaguta revealed the school has managed to obtain a water system that distillates water and cools it for safe drinking. This modern piece of technology ensures pupils drink safe water from the school. The school obtained the water purification system on hire purchase and is set to complete payment by 2017.

Abdul Kasumba, the bursar of Turkish Primary school, revealed the pleasant news to parents that his school offers full bursaries to pupils who score 4,5 and 6 points in UNEB’s PLE results.
