Tanzania’s former president Benjamin Mkapa has died at the age of 81.
President John Pombe Magufuli made the announcement yesterday.
Benjamin William Mkapa served as the third president of Tanzania from 1995 to 2005.
He died at a hospital in the country’s commercial hub, Dar es Salaam although the cause of his death is yet to be disclosed.
