Sometime back Church of Uganda Archbishop Stanley Ntangali during the 24th provincial Assembly announced his intention to retire by his 65th birthday on 1st March 2020
Now before that date has clocked, the Church of Uganda has elected a new Archbishop and the new man of God has described his rise to the highest office in the institution as a rise from a hut to State House.
Speaking just after he was announced as the successor, Kaziimba said: “God has raised me from a Hut to State House, from a nobody to somebody from Shame to Fame, from Grass to Grace and from No where to some where”.
He added “I want Christ to be known by words and life, in power of the Holy Spirit”
Bishop Kaziimba will say farewell to his diocese of Mityana and prepare for his new role in Kampala.
The outgoing Archbishop Dr. Stanley Ntagali thanked all bishops and Christians for the 8 year journey he has worked as the Church of Uganda Archbishop and called for cooperation and prayers for the new Archbishop, in order to help play his role.
The event took place at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe Kampala, where the Dean of the Church of Uganda Rt. Rev. Edison Irigei announced Bishop Kaziimba the victor from an election that was presided over by the Provincial Chancellor.
Bishop Kaziimba will be serving as the 9th Archbishop of the church of Uganda and will take over office on 1st March 2020 in a ceremony that will be presided over by the dean of the province who is the longest serving bishop in the church at the time of enthronement.
