President Museveni has announced the cash bonanza of One Million Dollars for the record-breaking Uganda Cranes squad as a token of appreciation for their qualification to the last 16 of the 2019 AFCON championships.

Museveni made the announcement While hosting the stars and the technical team at State House in Entebbe on Monday.

“I am very happy that you went up to the last 16 and hope next time you will perform better, I have prepared 1 million dollars for you as an appreciation token,” said Museveni

He added  “Government has not supported sports as we should be doing but we will increase the funding as we work on other projects”.

Moses Magogo the FUFA president thanked president Museveni for the support he rendered to the team while in Egypt

Dennis Onyango the Cranes captain said “As players we are thankful to the government and particularly to the president for supporting us
