The Democratic Party has asked government to abolish taxes on CCTV cameras and solar light equipment
Nobert Mao, the Democratic Party president General who was accompanied by other members of DP while addressing the media at the party headquarters in Kampala said there are many deaths and killings but they are being exposed by CCTV cameras and this can be used as an effective tool to fight crime.
“There is increased crime and some of these crimes have been captured on different CCTV cameras, I believe the police can use these CCTV cameras to fight crime, therefore I call upon government to abolish taxes on these items to enable Ugandans procure them at low prices” said Mao
Mao also tasked government to provide security to all Ugandans and their property as this is their constitutional right
This comes after footage of thugs robbing a boda boda rider identified as Derick Mulindwa a resident of Nansana surfaced on the internet. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera at a neighbouring school in Mengo.
