The Ugandan flag was held up high on 24th November 2018 during the AFRIMA awards that happened in Accra, Ghana.

Irene Namatovu, the New Eagles girl came home with best artiste in African traditional music with her Nsambira Nyuma song, Sandra Nankoma scooped best female artiste for African Inspirational music while the one and only front man for NRM’s silent majority Bebe Cool triumphed with best male artiste in East Africa beating another Ugandan favourite Tanzania’s Diamond Platinum.

Through his Facebook post, renowned musician and Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi congratulated the artistes and thanked them for representing the country and bringing home the best awaited victory.

‘As I leave Ghana for home, I am very pleased that Uganda performed exceptionally well at AFRIMA 2018 where I was invited as a panellist and special guest. I congratulate fellow Ugandan artistes who won awards- Irene Namatovu (Best artiste in African Traditional music), Bebe Cool (Best Male artiste, East Africa) and Sandra Nankoma (Best Female Artist, African Inspirational Music). Thank you for raising our flag high.’

To the People Power supporters who were against Bebe Cool and campaigned for Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz, Rafiki thinks it wise you emulate your boss.
