The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has launched a citizen budget guide and toll free lines to help Ugandans understand the budget and also give feedback to the ministry
The guide was launched today by the Secretary to the Treasury Keith Muhakanazi at the ministry’s head office in Kampala
The Citizen’s Guide to the budget is a simple version of the Budget. It is targets especially people who are not familiar with Public Finance. Through highlights, the guide helps them understand Government plans, sources of funding, key expenditures and the government’s strategic objectives.
Muhakanizi said the publication would provide an understanding of the tax measures for this year and the resource allocations to key sectors.
The guide is accessible through www.budget.go.ugin August 2018 There is also a toll-free hotline (0800-229-229) for those with no access to internet or those with more queries.
