Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei has done Uganda proud by winning the country’s first Gold and so far only medal at the Commonwealth games taking place in Australia.
Cheptegei beat tight competition from Canada’s Mohammad Ahmed and Kenya’s Edward Zakayo to win the 5000 metre race.
Cheptegei’s countrymen and running-mates Thomas Ayeko and Phillip Kipyeko missed out on the medals but helped him to keep up with the leaders.
