Museveni posted on his social media accounts saying: “Heard about the passing of Retired Archbishop Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo of the Church of Uganda. He was a principled shepherd of the flock. A religious leader whose actions matched his words. He was also passionate on improving the welfare of his flock and led by example. He will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.

A preliminary programme has been released by CoU indicating that the body of the late Nkoyoyo will be laid to rest at Namugongo Nears the Anglican Shrines on Tuesday on January 10.
